This privacy policy applies to EV Trip Planner - Sri Lanka (the “Application”), a mobile app for Android that helps you plan electric-vehicle trips in Sri Lanka and find EV charging stations. The Application is created and operated by Kanishka Gunawardana (the “Service Provider”). The Application is offered as a free, ad-supported service and is provided “as is”.

What information the Application uses

The Service Provider does not require you to create an account and does not run analytics on user behaviour on the developer’s own infrastructure. The data the Application uses lives in one of three places:

1. On your device only

The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent to any server controlled by the Service Provider:

• Your in-app preferences (for example selected vehicle, battery/range settings, and planning options).
• Your recently planned trips and favourite locations, where the Application offers these features.

2. Location

With your permission, the Application uses your device’s location to show your position on the map, find charging stations near you, and plan routes. Location is used to provide these features while you use the Application. When map, routing, or charging-station data is requested, your coordinates may be sent over HTTPS to the mapping and data services the Application uses (Google services such as Google Maps and Firebase), together with standard request metadata such as your IP address. The Service Provider does not build location profiles of users on its own infrastructure. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; you can still browse the map and stations manually.

3. Sent to Google AdMob

The Application displays advertisements via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect the standard data it collects across all apps that use it, including your device’s advertising ID, IP address, device information, and ad-interaction events. This data is used by Google for ad serving, ad measurement, and fraud prevention. Google’s privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy. What the Service Provider does NOT collect

• No account registration, names, email addresses, or passwords.
• No contacts, photos, files, SMS, or call logs.
• No sale of personal data to third parties.

Children

The Application is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data through the Application, please contact the Service Provider and the relevant data will be removed where the Service Provider has any access to it.

Your rights and choices

• Location: deny or revoke the location permission at any time through your device’s system settings.
• Advertising: reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation through your device’s privacy settings (Settings → Google → Ads on Android).
• Local data: uninstalling the Application removes all locally stored data.
• For data held by Google (Maps, Firebase, AdMob), refer to Google’s privacy policy linked above.

Data retention

The Service Provider does not retain personal data on its own infrastructure. Data stored on your device remains until you clear the Application’s storage or uninstall it. Data collected by Google services is retained according to Google’s policies.

Security

All network communication from the Application uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
