This privacy policy applies to Sentry Cam (the “Application”), a mobile app for Android and iOS that lets you control EZVIZ security cameras. The Application is created and operated by Kanishka Gunawardana (the “Service Provider”). The Application is offered as a free, ad-supported service and is provided “as is”.
The Service Provider does not operate any backend server, run analytics on user behaviour, or collect any data on the developer’s own infrastructure. All of the data the Application uses lives in one of three places:
The following data is stored only on your device, in operating-system-protected storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore for credentials; AsyncStorage for non-secret preferences) and is never sent to any server controlled by the Service Provider:
The Application is a third-party client to the EZVIZ cloud — the same cloud the official EZVIZ app uses. To control your cameras, the Application sends:
EZVIZ’s privacy policy applies to anything sent to or stored by EZVIZ: https://www.ezviz.com/privacy.
The Application displays banner and interstitial advertisements via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect the standard data it collects across all apps that use it, including your device’s advertising ID, IP address, device information, and ad-interaction events. Where supported, the Application requests non-personalised ads. Google’s privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
If you opt in to the “auto-return” geofence feature, the Application requests background location permission so the operating system can wake the Application when your device crosses a self-defined boundary. The location coordinates are used only by the OS-level geofencing service for that purpose; they are not stored beyond what is needed for the geofence to function and are not sent to any server operated by the Service Provider.
You can revoke background location at any time through your device’s system settings. Doing so disables auto-return; manual AWAY / HOME still works.
To be explicit, the Service Provider does not:
The Application is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data through the Application, please contact the Service Provider and the relevant data will be removed where the Service Provider has any access to it.
The Service Provider does not retain any user data on its own infrastructure (because it has no infrastructure). Data held on your device persists only until you sign out or uninstall.
The Application uses HTTPS for all network requests and stores credentials in operating-system-protected secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you should also use a strong, unique password on your EZVIZ account.
This policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be posted at the same URL where you read this. Continued use of the Application after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
